Mr Andrew White

I wanted to complement my recent review about Mr White.I had a complete reconstruction of rotator cuff done in Spain in December 2020. It is only then that I became a patient of Mr White. In spite of not performing the operation himself, he taught me how serious my injury was, explained the reconstruction and the other possible options depending on how my recovery was going to go. He took me and my medical predicament on board.  He referred me to an excellent physio at the hospital, James Webble, and the pair of them led me and supported me along the long way of rehabilitation.A year and a half along the line, as I was still in pain, in spite of all our efforts to make me feel better, after further x-rays and scans which proved to be inconclusive, Mr White and I decided to go for an arthroscopy, under block anesthetics. The operation went very well, it was a unique experience to be able to be /talk with the surgeon/ the registrar, the anesthesia team and the nurses and watch this incredible surgery procedure being performed on one's body. They checked the reconstruction, cleaned scar tissues and removed 2 very long screws.Everyone was really friendly and supportive the whole time. Once back into the day units, the same care was given to me , lots of advice and support. I was discharged 5 hours later after I had arrived, having seen the registrar,  knowing what I had to do and what to expect.1 month later, 2 days ago, I saw Mr White again for a follow-up appointment. We discussed progress and how my shoulder was feeling. I was pleased to report to him that my shoulder felt better, that I could move better , everything felt more souple and smoother, I was NOT hurting at every movement any more. I am still limited in what I can do , that is a fact that I have to accept and deal with , but I have a much better quality of movement and that is a great improvement to my life. I will have another appointment to follow-up progress in 1 month time.So , I do thank Mr White and his team for the wonderful work they do in trying to make us feel better and for all the care they give us. Nathalie

Mr White is very approachable, he takes great care at listening and then at explaining the situation with clarity and understanding for the patient. He clearly defines the possible options with its pluses and minuses. Mr White will take the time to explain and show what is going on by showing x-rays , helping the patient to understand the situation he/she is in. He takes the necessary time with the patient and one never feels rushed or pushed. Always extremely polite, he certainly helps at lessening the stress which comes with any difficult medical predicament by being reassuring , practical and helping to think ahead.

Listens and acts. Doesn’t mess around, sorts the problem. Very professional. I’ve worked with Mr White indirectly in the past which helped me to totally trust his medical opinion and diagnosis. Cannot fault him. I’ve experienced sub optimal (in my opinion) medical opinions/surgery/treatment in the past due to my job role, this makes me very anxious being a patient in the hospital environment, however I asked for Mr White due to his knowledge and skill as a surgeon.
